Got questions before booking? Here are the ones that come up most often.
Q. What is a Gen Z life and career coach?
A. A life and career coach who works with adults aged 18–30 on the specific challenges their generation faces — identity formation, career uncertainty, AI disruption, and mental health pressures. Unlike therapy, coaching is forward-focused and action-oriented, helping you figure out where you want to go and how to get there.
Q. How much does coaching cost?
A. Sessions run on a sliding scale from $30 to $80, based on what you can afford. There’s no documentation required and no judgment — you tell me what works for you. The first session is always free.
What happens in a first coaching session?
The first session is a free 20-minute exploratory video call. There’s no pitch and no pressure — it’s simply a conversation to see if we’re a good fit before committing to anything.
How is coaching different from therapy? Therapy focuses on healing the past and treating mental health conditions. Coaching focuses on the present and future — clarifying goals, building skills, and taking action. If something deeper comes up that needs therapeutic support, a good coach will tell you that directly.
Do I have to be in a life or career crisis to work with a coach?
No. Some clients come with a specific problem to solve; others just have a sense that something isn’t working and want help figuring out what. Both are valid starting points.
What if I can’t afford coaching right now?
The sliding scale exists precisely for this situation. Sessions start at $30 — and if you genuinely can’t swing it solo, asking a parent to cover it is completely fine. No judgment here.
Are sessions in person or remote?
All sessions are fully remote via video call, so location is never a barrier.
What makes this coaching practice different?
Rob Kaminoff has graduate degrees in both counseling and social psychology, and authored the renowned Handbook for Gen Z, a 20-Chapter guide to growing up during this challenging time in history, and believes coaching should be affordable to those who need it most.
